Shirley Jane Padgett, 82, lifelong resident of Clay Hill, FL went to be with her savior Jesus Christ on October 30, 2019. She passed away surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 4, 1937 in Clay Hill, FL to Henry and Alice Mosley. She was married for 60 years to her beloved husband Howard Padgett prior to his death in 2013. She was a column editor of the Clay Hill area, for the Bradford County Telegraph news paper, in the 1960s. She was a Clay County Bus Driver for 32 years. She was a member of Clay Hill Baptist Church, the Sunday School Church Secretary, an active member of the Women's Missionary Union, active in Ol' Faithfuls Group, a charter member of Clay Hill Baptist Church, and a tremendous sponsor of the church youth. She volunteered at the Olde Farm Inc., distributing food for Clay County residents in need. She was an avid donator to the Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society. Her favorite hobbies were bowling and fishing. She was predeceased by her father, Henry Mosley; mother, Alice Mosley; husband, Howard Padgett, and youngest son, Darrell Padgett. She is survived by her son, Terrell Padgett (Donna); daughter-in-law, Patricia Padgett; grandchildren, Dana Lucas (Tony), Shane Padgett (Amanda), Zeb Padgett and Rindi Weaver (Billy), great grandchildren Dillon Lucas, Alyssa Lucas, Kaylee Padgett, and Kelsey Padgett. She was known as Nanny to her grand children and great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019, 11 AM at Clay Hill Baptist Church, 6054 C.R. 218, Clay Hill, FL 32234, with Pastor Rick Crews officiating. Interment will follow at Long Branch Cemetery. Viewing will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 10AM at Clay Hill Baptist Church.
