Shirley Dunlap Obituary

Following a battle with cancer, Shirley Ann Beverly Dunlap, 69, of Baldwin, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 17, 1950 in Waycross, Georgia and moved to Jacksonville at an early age. She became a lifelong resident of Baldwin in October 1978. Shirley met the love of her life, Manuel Clyde Dunlap on June 16, 1968. They married June 19, 1969. They were blessed with two daughters and five grandchildren. Shirley was a graduate of Paxon High School, class of 1969. In order to do the job she loved the most which was taking care of and spending time with her grandchildren, she retired from the Jacksonville Urban League Headstart Program in 2015, where she was the nutritionist. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, John H. & Mary Lou Beverly and her daughter, Mary Jo Ann Nobles. Survivors include her husband of almost 50 years, Manuel Clyde Dunlap; daughter, Misty Kaye (W.B.) Sloan of Baldwin; son-in-law, Tim Nobles of Baldwin; grandchildren, Eason & Taner Sloan, Robert, Sean & Kimberly Nobles; siblings, Pauline Sage of Jacksonville, Mollie (Robert) Lowry of Jacksonville, John S. (Earline) Beverly of Baldwin, Farrell Wayne (Karen) Beverly of Jacksonville, Wanda Blair of Baldwin, Larry Beverly of Baldwin, Gwen (Glenn) Brumfield of Baldwin and Joey Beverly of Baldwin; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, May 10, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, 51 South Chestnut Street, Baldwin with Pastor John Frank officiating. Interment will follow in Brandy Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday evening at the church. Pallbearers serving will be George Kotrady, Punkin McQuaig, David Brumfield, Kenny Reinhardt, Bobby Gardner, Tim Nobles, W.B. Sloan and Glenn Brumfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Eason Sloan, Taner Sloan, Robert Nobles, Sean Nobles, Daniel Blair and Eric Blair.
