Nathaniel “Drew” Freeman, 39, passed away on January 21, 2020.
He is survived by his wife, Tonya: two children Kaliegh and Mason: mother Pam Griffith: and many other loving family and friends. He was predeceased by his dad, Rick and his brother Chris.
Drew was born in Ventura California, on August 1st 1980. He moved to New Mexico with his mom and step dad in 1998. He then moved to Hawaii with his dad and step mother, Teri. It is there where he enlisted in the US Navy. He attended many schools, and served many deployments. In the 10 years of serving, he earned many awards and became a proud Shellback. He was proud to serve as an Air Traffic Controller. He and his family moved to Jacksonville, Florida for his last duty station before being honorably discharged from the Navy. Drew has been a resident of Florida since January 2011.
Drew is a special man, truly a one-of-a-kind guy. He always had fun no matter what he did. He loved fishing with his family and friends. We often wondered if he was part fish as he loved being on, in and near the water. He had a way about him that he made everyone feel special.
Drew wished to be cremated. There will be a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund for his children. A go fund me memorial account has been set up and will be invested for their future endeavors.
Drew is now at peace and to use his words “It will be Okay!”
