Loyce Lueders Doering, a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, went to be with her Lord & Savior on July 8, 2020, passing peacefully in her sleep. She is now resting in the arms of Jesus. She was born on September 1, 1914, and was about 6 weeks shy of turning 106! Loyce was an incredible example of a full life. She was dedicated to her Christian belief. She and her husband, Ernest, were charter members of Cedar Hills Baptist Church, later attending Marietta Baptist, and then Evangel Temple Assembly of God which she made her final church home. Loyce loved to travel and visited many places in the U.S., as well as many other countries. She drove her car until her 100th birthday. She is remembered for mowing her lawn (4400 sq. ft.) on a riding mower wearing a straw hat. At 99, her son Robin insisted that the lawn guy, Dave, would continue mowing her yard.
She will also be remembered for her love of her church, her family, her wide circle of friends, her harmonica and her love of life. Although she spent her last days in a care facility, her health was good until the last few days. She was affectionately known as Nana. Loyce is survived by her son, Robin Louis (Nancy); grandson John David Doering (Brandy); granddaughter Rebecca Doering Nasworthy (Michael); grandson Chad Louis Doering (Dawna). She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest, and son, Ernie.
