Leticia Concepcion dela Torre, 93, passed away peacefully in her home in Jacksonville, Florida on July 17, 2018. Leticia was born on February 12, 1925, the daughter of Concepcion Ancheta Concepcion. She had 4 sons and 12 daughters with Primo dela Torre. Leticia was the Matriarch of five generations of the dela Torre Family and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother to many. After her husband’s death in 1986, she moved to the U.S. where she cared for her daughter’s children and help raised them. She was known for her ability to heal any sickness with peppermint oil, Vicks, or traditional Filipino remedies. Leticia’s favorite pastimes were: sewing clothes for her grandchildren, crocheting fine dining table cloths, going to Mass, watching Wheel of Fortune or Filipino “teleserye” and cooking tasty, classic Filipino dishes for anyone who came through the door. Leticia always put her family first and she was a courageous Matriarch when her family needed her to be. Arrangements by Giddens-Reed Funeral Home, Baldwin, 904-266-2337 (www.giddensreedfh.com).
