Joyce Jackson Milton

Joyce Jackson Milton went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on October 17, 2019. She was born in Mayo, Florida, and was a Member of Westside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Milton, parents Ruben and Lena Jackson, sisters Doris Johns (Edward) and Edwina Lawson (Marvin), and brother Pasco Jackson (Patricia).  Joyce is survived by her nieces and nephews Dennis Johns (Joann), Edward Johns (Elaine), Judy McCranie (Mark), Kevin Johns (Lisa), Derek Lawson (Dana), Neil Lawson (Regina Godfrey), Michelle Howland (Bill), Randle Jackson (Monica), Darcy Kim Daniels (Charlie), Terri Musgrove (Chris), sister in law Patricia Jackson and many great nieces and nephews.

Joyce moved to Jacksonville when she was 18 and began working as a Secretary for Winn Dixie, and then worked in real estate management for several years. Her last job was with George Parnaby, CPA, until she retired at 65. Joyce was very career oriented and loved her time in business. 

She married late in life when she met the love of her life, John, in the Singles class at Hillcrest Baptist Church. They loved to travel, seeing family and visiting different places. After eight years of retirement, they moved to Asheville, N.C. Joyce loved the Smokey Mountains, and all the many friends they met. She loved sewing, helping people, entertaining and playing Bunko with her partners, who became best friends. She loved her animals and every Pug they had was named “Winston”.  Most of all Joyce loved doing for family and especially all her nieces and nephew.  She will be missed by family and her many friends.  She is finally rejoicing in heaven with all her family. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, October 23, 2019 in the Teachey of Westside Baptist Church, 7775 Herlong Road, Jacksonville.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
