Joseph C Leatherman

Joseph Carroll Leatherman, Sr. was on born December 25, 1947 and was called home to be with his Lord on January 3, 2019.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife Linda of 48 years, his children Joseph C. Leatherman, Jr. (Lisa), Susan Leatherman Davis (Paul), Julie Leatherman Davis (Phillip), Michael E. Leatherman (Christie), and Lori M. Leatherman, sister Marjorie Leatherman Zimmer, 13 loving grandchildren and many  nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Gilbert Leatherman and Nell Tillou Leatherman. Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all that knew him.

Joseph loved his family dearly, and that love held them together in an uncommon bond. He liked to travel with his wife and family, and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He spent his free time with his wife Linda, enjoyed movies, and listened to a very diverse range of music. He was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects, take grandchildren to various events, or anything else he was needed for. He retired from JEA in 2002 after thirty-two years of distinguished service.

Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, January 8, 2018 in the chapel of Giddens-Reed Funeral Home, 270 U.S. Highway 301, North, Baldwin, 904-266-2337 (www.giddensreedfh.com).  Pastor Joey Rountree will officiate.  Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville, FL.
