John Francis Bailey Sr.

John Francis Bailey Sr. passed away peacefully July 7, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He was born August 31, 1935 in Avon Park, FL. Mr. Bailey was a U. S. Air Force veteran and a retired Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department Chief. He was a member of the International Association of Firefighters and the Jacksonville Retired Firefighters Association.
Mr. Bailey is survived by: his children Barbara Swank (Leslie), John Bailey Jr. (Bonnie), Michelle Hickox and Raymond Bailey (Karen); brother Bobby Moore (Shirley); (11) grandchildren; and (12) great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents John T. Phelps and William and Lorene Bailey, and his wife of many years Martha Ann Bailey.
The family would like to thank Mr. Bailey’s caretakers Linda Beaman and  Renita Williams for their dedication and excellent care.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 12, 2018 11:00 A.M. at Evangel Temple Assembly of God. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Northeast Florida Community Hospice.
