Jerry Michael Bates

Jerry Michael Bates, age 63, of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina, on February 2, 1958, to Angela Fulmer Bates and the late Clyde Bates Jr. He worked several years as an installer for cabinets and carpentry. Jerry was such a great man to be around and always put a smile on your face. He was a member of the Restoration Church of Jacksonville, Florida. He loved all of his church family and friends. In his spare time, he loved going to the beach, riding motorcycles, going to church, and seeing family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father: Clyde Bates Jr.

He is survived by his mother: Angela Fulmer Bates; his wife: Laurie Bates of Jacksonville; his mother: Angela Fulmer Bates; his son: Jacob Bates of Jacksonville; his daughters: Kristen Davis of Cummings Georgia, and Jalynn Bates of Jacksonville; his brother: Todd Bates of Lebanon Tennessee; his sister: Teresa Bates of Jacksonville; and his grandchild: Madeline Davis; and other extended family members and friends.

Saturday, October 9, 2021, the viewing will be held at 1:00 PM at Restoration Church, 1677 Southside Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32216.

Officiating will be Pastor John Morgan starting at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bates children's trust fund would be greatly appreciated.
