Gary Lynn King, Jr passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 10th, 2020. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 22, 1965. As a boy, Gary loved building cars, motorcycles and go carts, something he was looking forward to passing on and doing with his grandchildren. Even as an adult he and his Dad spent many hours working on “projects” together. He loved all things outdoors and it was well known that during hunting season, he, his wife, and the rest of the family would be in the woods as much as possible.
He loved his family fiercely and was so proud of his children. To his grandkids, he was the best papa ever.
Gary & his wife loved to travel and were always looking for new adventures. They were by each other’s side in all aspects of their lives. They did everything together including running their own business.
He was a charismatic, fun-loving guy. He loved meeting new people and he never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold and would always be the first to pitch in and help anyone in need. Gary was a huge presence when he was around and his absence will truly be felt by all who loved him.
His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his wife, Valerie; a son, Casey (Ashley), 3 daughters, Angela Smith, Kaitlin Collins (Brian) and Carissa Halifko (Zach); his father Phillip Richardson, his mother, Faye Richardson; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; along with 7 grandchildren who were his pride and joy.
There will be a short graveside service for family at 11:00 on Friday May 15, 2020 at Manning Cemetery. (The cemetery is located on the Westside of Jacksonville. It can be found in a rural area by taking Normandy Boulevard (State Road 228) west past Cecil Field then left on Manning Cemetery Road. The cemetery is located at the end of the road.)
All friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service on May 15th from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at our home, located at, 7017 Cisco Gardens Rd W, Jacksonville, FL 32219.
For those who prefer, donations may be made to VyStar Account #7900487944 in the name of Carissa Halifko.
