Chantal Wilson Obituary

Chantal Marie Genevieve Wilson,  née  Deschamps, passed away at the hospital in company of her daughter, Sandra and granddaughter, Victoria on Saturday September 26th, 2:27am.  Her son, David, arrived shortly afterwards to sit vigil at her bedside with his sister.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Duane Wilson. Her two children, David Wilson and Sandra Wilson; daughter-in-law, Lisa Wilson; her three grandchildren: Victoria (Alex) Kovalenko, Adrienne Wilson, and Devon (Jordyn) Wilson; two great-grandchildren: William and Skylar.

Chantal was born in Paris, France, on April 6th,1945.  She met the love of her life, Duane, an American soldier, while he was stationed near her home town of Chauvigny, France. They married in France on July 11th, 1964. They celebrated their 56th anniversary this year.

Duane Wilson suffered a massive stroke while in France, November 2011.  When he returned to the United States, via Walter Reed, he required constant medical attention and care.  The past nine years, Chantal tirelessly devoted her life to her husband.  For seven of those years, she split her time between her husband in the United States and her mother, Jeanine, in France.  Her mother passed away in June of 2018.

Chantal was a strong and devoted woman.  She is loved by all who knew her.  She believed it was important to celebrate those you love.  She loved celebrating the holidays and special occasions.  She maintained warm friendships with people in the USA and foreign countries, far and near; some dating more than forty, fifty years. She always made them feel cared for and thought about.  She was wonderfully supportive to her children. She lovingly doted on her grandchildren. She maintained close contacts with all her beloved cousins and friends in France. Chantal will forever be remembered to the lives she touched.
She joins those Love Ones who have previously passed, (eighty-eight was her last count); notably, her mother, Kiki, and her beloved cat, Kinou.
Chantal, the wife, the Mom, the Nanou, the cousin, the friend, is, already, woefully missed...
