Wilfred James Poggi Jr.

Wilfred J. Poggi Jr. passed away July 9, 2017 after a long illness.. He was born August 23, 1944 in Jacksonville, Florida and was a lifelong resident. Jim was retired from the Florida Times Union. In spite of being handicapped Mr. Poggi was an inspiration to all who knew him. He never complained about anything. Jim was an example of what a good man should be.  Mr. Poggi is survived by: his loving wife of 23 years, Shirley; brothers Roy (Josephine) Crews, Bruce Lowery, Dale Busbee, and Steve Silberman; sister Pam Crews; and several step-children.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 11:00 A.M. at Evangel Temple Assembly of God.  Arrangements by Giddens-Reed Funeral Home 270 U S Highway 301 N.  Baldwin, FL 32234,(904)  266-2337, giddensreedfh.com.
