Sergey Brooks Obituary
Sergey Leon Brooks was born October 11, 1998 in Ukraine. In 2016, he bravely and excitedly started a new life in America with his forever (adoptive) family. He enjoyed playing varsity soccer for Westside High in 2016-2017 and then for Baldwin Senior High in 2017-2018. Sergey loved FC Barcelona, and Messi was his favorite futbol player. Our son was a loving individual who wanted the best for his family. He had dreams to pursue a career as a banker and have a family of his own someday. Our hearts were suddenly broken with the news of his tragic death on July 6th, 2018. Sergey is survived by his parents, siblings, a huge extended family and close friends. Not a day will go by that he will not be missed and he will not be forgotten. With our hope in Jesus, we will see him again the other side.
The evil and darkness of this world may have taken our son, but the light of this world is brighter and will restore him whole again.
There are many scriptures that speak to faith, hope, courage and strength, but we thought we would all benefit from remembering this particular one as we face the challenging days ahead. We need to show love through intentional actions so that we may override the evil in this world.
John 13: 34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Rise Church, 8081 Lenox Avenue, Jacksonville.
