Rushing, Mary Carol On Saturday February 18, 2017, our loving wife, mother, and Mema passed away. While we take comfort that she is no longer suffering following a hard fought battle against her many medical issues, we will miss her daily until we are with her again. She has shown incredible courage, strength and grace these past months that most others would have not been able to tolerate and certainly would not have wanted to. Carol was born in Pearson, GA on July 21, 1933, the youngest of eight children to the late L. J. and Lola Jordan. She was pre-deceased in 2005 by her beloved son, Lee St. John. Carol is survived by her husband of 48 years, Johnny; along with her 3 daughters, June (Phyllis) St. John, Robyn (Mike) Crawford and Lisa (David) Bennett; 7 grandchildren, Adam, Anthony, Mary, Rebecca, David “Bebo”, Britney and Dalton; great-grandchildren Jordan, Scott, Jessica, Jason, Hunter, Megan, Jake, Skyler, Jace, Rayne, Memphis, Shea, Aiden, Hayley, A.J., Alyssa, and Zacariah; and numerous nieces and nephews. This quote best sums up Carol’s love for her family and life: “If ever there is a tomorrow when we’re not together..there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing, is even if we’re apart..I’ll always be with you.” Winnie the Pooh, by A.A. Milne Visitation will be 1-2 PM Tuesday February 21, 2017, services will follow at Giddens-Reed Funeral Home located at 270 US-301 N, Jacksonville, FL 32234. Burial and graveside services will be at Brandy Branch Baptist Church located at 1906 Brandy Branch Church Place off of County Road 121 in Bryceville, FL.
