Johnny D. Byrd

Johnny D. Byrd, 70, of Jacksonville, passed away on February 17, 2019. He was born in Branford, FL and lived in Jacksonville most of his life. Mr. Byrd served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Betty R. Byrd; son, John Byrd (wife, Ashley); daughter, Christie Knowles (husband, Tim); sister, Bernie Knight; grandchildren, Kayla Knowles, Leyton Byrd, Kelson Byrd, Keslyn Byrd and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in the chapel of Giddens-Reed Funeral Home, 270 U.S. Highway 301, North, Baldwin, FL 32234, 904-266-2337 (www.giddensreedfh.com) with interment to follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Pastor Doug Allen will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
