James Edward Adkison, Jr.

James Edward Adkison, Jr., 74, of Jacksonville, passed away on October 30, 2019.  Jim served in the U.S. Navy and was a minister of the gospel.  He was preceded in death in 2012 by his wife, Meldora.  Survivors include his children, Brian Adkison and Heather Farias; step-children, Brian Carver and Crystal Bane; daughters-in-law, Jennifer Adkison and Linda Carver, as well as many relatives and friends and colleagues from churches he attended.   A memorial service will be held at 4 PM Sunday, November 3, 2019 at East Pointe Church, 270 N. Kernan Blvd, Jacksonville. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Monday, November 4, 2019 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL.  Arrangements by Giddens-Reed Funeral Home, Baldwin, FL, 904-266-2337 (www.giddensreedfh.com).
