Elvin Ernest Hampton

Elvin Ernest "Ernie" Hampton, 75, of Jacksonville, passed away on May 10, 2017. Mr. Hampton was born in Upton County, Austin, Texas, served in the United States Marine Corps, graduated the top of his class from Jones College with a Bachelor's Degree in Science and owned and operated an automotive repair shop. Survivors include his mother, Mildred Hampton; son, Elvin Hampton, Jr.; step-daughter, Lora Young; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Donna Early, Gay Bruno, Elaine Hubbard & Cathy Inabinette; a brother, Roy Hampton and his former wife and good friend, Adela Denny . Graveside services will be held at 9:30 AM Monday, May 22, 2017 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville.
