Deborah Lynn Thornton

Deborah L. Thornton, daughter of the late Jack. G. Jessee and Jacqueline L. Jessee quietly passed away on May 17, 2018 at 3PM at UF Shands in Gainesville, FL while surrounded by her loving family as she went home to be with our Lord.

“Debbie” met the love her life, David D. Thornton, in Jacksonville, FL where they married and spent 42 loving years together until cancer took him in 2014.

Her greatest accomplishments were her family. She took great pride in her home and preparing meals. She loved spending time with her family and some of her fondest moments were times spent at the lake with her grandchildren, family, and friends.

Debbie was survived by her daughter, Lisa McClean (Joe), grandsons, “LJ” McClean and Austin McClean, her sisters, Kathi Tillman (Terry) and Donna G. Gore (Buddy), and numerous family and friends. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and brother William Gregory Jessee.

There will be a service held for Deborah at 6 PM Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in the chapel of Giddens-Reed Funeral Home, 270 U.S. Highway 301, North, Baldwin, FL with Pastor Joey Rountree officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
