Carlton Johns

John ‘Carlton’ Johns went to be with Jesus on August 7, 2017, with family and friends by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Judy Bennett Johns; his brother William Johns; and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Robert Johns. Carlton was born on November 26, 1949, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Herbert and Dorothy Johns. Carlton served in the Naval Air Reserves before beginning his lifelong career in the grocery industry. His knowledge and experience in facilities management led him to 27 years of service at the Winn Dixie corporate headquarters, where he was recognized time and again for his outstanding dedication. Carlton was a member of Evangel Temple AG, where he served as a Deacon, and spent many years ministering on the Children’s Church team. He was a humble, kind, giant of a man who will be greatly missed by his many friends and family members.

A memorial service will be held at Evangel Temple Assembly of God, 5755 Ramona Blvd., on Friday, August 11th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, a Tribute/Memorial can be made online in Carlton’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
