Rocky George Ellison

Rocky George Ellison was born on October 14, 1954 and passed away, as a result of his battle with throat cancer, on July 3, 2017 at Heartland Health Care Center. Rocky grew up and lived in the Jacksonville area his entire life. He was preceded in death by his parents Will Ocie and Maebell (Corbin) Ellison and his brother “Junior”. He is survived by his current wife, Lori (King) Ellison; children from a previous marriage, his son, Robert (Tami) and daughter Amanda (Joseph) Sekel; grandsons, Trevor, Spencer, and Maxwell; step-sons, Jamie Dixon (Crystal), Jimmy Dixon, and Joel Dixon; brothers, Sheppard Lamar (Jeanie), John Curtis (Cindy), Gerald Tony; sisters, Catherine (Harry) Baity, Vada Mae Davis, Myrtice Ellison, Cora Faye (Phillip) Richardson, Gloria (C.J.) Reece and many nieces and nephews. Rocky attended Evangel Temple Assembly of God. He enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors, fishing, water sports, and all family gatherings. He worked most of his life in the field of well drilling and pump repair. He will be missed by his family and friends. Graveside services will be held at Manning Cemetery at 10 AM Thursday, July 13, 2017 with Pastor Garry Wiggins officiating .
