Mildred Szabo

Mildred D. Szabo, 98, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and devout Catholic passed away peacefully on June 10, 2017. She was born in Hogback Township, NC and was a long time resident of Jacksonville, FL. Mrs. Szabo was an active member of St. Matthew’s, Our Lady of the Angels, Immaculate Conception, and St. Paul's Catholic Church during her years in Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Lorain Szabo in 1999 and her son Peter F. Szabo in 2006. Survivors include 2 sons: Nicholas G. Szabo (Pat); & C. Robin Szabo (Pam); daughter: Bernadette S. Picras (Tom); 3 grandchildren: Jason, Anastasia (Jeff) & Christa; 3 great-grandchildren: Ryker, Pierce & Ellura, along with many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 19, 2017 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 2609 Park St., Jacksonville with Father George Vaniyapurackal officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Monday at the church.
