Frederick "Freddie" James Ricks

Frederick “ Freddie” James Ricks, 65, of Baldwin, passed away on March 16, 2018. Fred graduated from Ribault High School in 1970, retired from the Duval County Property Appraiser's Office and was a member of First Baptist Church in Baldwin. He was an avid golfer and loved the Florida Gators. Mr. Ricks loved his family and lived his life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lois Walker Ricks and James Frederick Ricks and also a daughter, Jennifer Ann Ricks Jones. Survivors include his best friend and wife of 34 years, Charlene Tillis Ricks; son, Jason Ricks and his wife, Kristine; daughter, Jennifer Douglas and her husband, Chris; 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Melanie, Dylan, Addison, Olivia and Griffin; sister, Sylvia Higginbotham; brother, Tim Ricks and his wife, Willette; uncle and mentor, Ben Walker and his wife, Betty along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Baldwin, 97 Center Street, Baldwin with Pastor Chris Drum officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the hour of the service at the church. Interment will follow in Brandy Branch Cemetery.
